Welcome to EdgarReviews, a film review site created, maintained and managed by a 19 year-old cinephile. This site prioritises Film Reviews, featuring a brobdingnagian array of words that makes me sound more fancy than I actually am. I’ll try to update regularly, but inevitably Uni work will get in the way of my best intentions. While I am keen on viewing, reviewing and re-viewing nearly every single film in existence, you must know that there are certain types and genres of films that will crop up as reviewed on this site more often than others…
MY TASTE IN FILM
I don’t go for superhero films. I’ll probably mention it now so that hearts aren’t broken when the umpteenth Marvel film is released with fantastic hype surrounding it and I give it an average rating (Hello, Guardians of the Galaxy). That’s not to say I won’t try to watch as many as I can, but the superhero genre (I suppose it is a genre nowadays) won’t be too prominent on this site. Meaningless action flicks and romances with the substance of a vacuum are likewise. The films you’ll most likely be seeing reviewed are dramas, thrillers, and all those pretentious ones that don’t have a specific genre.
MORE ABOUT ME
I’m a 19 year old second-year student studying English Literature and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia, and I’m hoping the knowledge I gain from partaking in the subject as well as the idea of keeping up my own film review website will supply me with much needed experience to help me with my future endeavours (What a surprise, I want to be a film critic when I’m older). It’ll also help me with a notorious attribute of mine, procrastination. As I said, I’m aiming to update this site regularly; whether I’ll achieve that or not is anyone’s guess.
